Vikings’ football star Adrian Peterson was suspended for the whole season without pay for beating his 4-year-old son, the L.A. Times reported on November 18.
The tough suspension against the 29-year-old running back came after his recent “no contest” plea to a domestic violence charge filed against him in Texas. Commissioner Roger Goodell decided to ban the player for the rest of the season, partly because he did not believe Peterson seemed remorseful for treating his son so severely. Peterson was put under probation and had to pay fine worth $4,000 for assaulting his son using a tree switch. He will face a decision over whether or not to be reinstated after April 15.
