A recent study is claiming that people who frequently use social media sites like Facebook have a higher liklihood of getting divorced, an article of CBS Boston reported on September 2.
According to researchers from Boston University, a two percent increase in divorce rate in the U.S. was observed from 2008 and 2010, the same time Facebook users also dramatically increased. The study entitled “Computers in Human Behavior” offered two possible factors linking social media to increased divorce rates: frequent social media usage damages their married life, or perhaps those individuals with existing relationship problems tend to spend more time on these sites.
